Officials AAU Taekwondo Official's Program Mission Statement The AAU Taekwondo Officials' Program is dedicated to safe, fair competition, free of politics, held at the District, Regional and National levels. We will strive for excellence through continuous Officials' training at District, Regional and National levels by identifying our best Officials to work competitions. We will endeavor to have the best Officials' Program of any Martial Arts Organization in the U.S.
Judges, Referees, Technical Advisors, and Arbitrators are required to become (re) certified on a yearly basis and must be (re) certified EACH YEAR (competition year from September 1 - August 31) prior to District or Regional qualifying competition. The fee is $35. Look for the list of Officials Clinics below. Certified Officials expecting to officiate at the National Championships and/or the AAU Junior Olympic Games are required to take ONE of the National clinics, offered at those events, before they will be allowed to work either National event. Since the Nationals are NORMALLY held first, an official must attend the Nationals’ clinic in order to work the Nationals and his/her certification will allow him/her to work Nationals and/or AAU Junior Olympic Games. Should an official desire to only work the AAU Junior Olympic Games, they can attend the AAU Junior Olympic Games clinic offered prior to the beginning of that event. Officials wishing to Coach must FIRST take the Coaches Online Certification Course prior to attending the local Official's Clinic. There is no fee to those Official's attending that local clinic if they bring their Coaches Certification Card. For those officials who plan to officiate AND coach at either the Nationals or the AAU Junior Olympic Games, they must meet all the requirements listed here. In addition, they’ll be required to complete both the officials AND coaches registration forms, and pay the applicable coach’s fee. Officials' Clinics Officials' Clinics are organized by date.
