AAU Taekwondo Championships

If you place in the top eight in any division during one of the over 40 qualifiers that will be conducted across the country during the 2012 competition year, then you will be eligible to compete in the 2012 AAU Taekwondo Nationals, Ft. Lauderdale, FL (Dates TBD) and the 2012 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Houston, TX (Dates TBD). > Eligibility requirements for National Events
In order to participate in any AAU Taekwondo Event during the 2012 competition year (September 1, 2011 - August 31, 2012), Officials must first attend a local clinic during the 2012 competition year and Coaches must take the AAU Taekwondo Online Coaches Course during the same year. For those Officiating and Coaching, the Coaches Online Course must be completed first. For information click here.

Notes: This event is being conducted by Master Kathy Wieczerza, 7th Dan. Master Wiz is widely recognized as a leader in both Olympic and Point Sparring TKD communities. Session #1 will be an Olympic style Sparring Workshop. Following the lunch break, session #2 will be a sparring scrimmage. Participants can spar whomever they want for as many matches as they want. Matches can be stopped to ask questions regarding techniques, coaching, and officiating issues. Officials can use the 2nd session to gain officiating experience with guidance given by an Master Wieczerza who is an AAU AA official.
