AAU Dan Certification

Our goal is to provide a fair, consistent and thorough testing procedure for our members which recognizes and incorporates their differences in style and training methods.
We provide an achievable standard in which all AAU certified Black Belts may take pride. Over 4,400 AAU Dan Certificates have been awarded through the AAU Taekwondo Program.

AAU National Team
Each year the National AAU Taekwondo Program chooses three (3) separate teams; Cadet (10-13 year olds), Junior (14-17 year olds), and Senior (18-32 year olds). The Cadet Team is a twenty member unit chosen from those who capture the Gold Medal at the current year's National Championship in the 10-11 AND 12-13 year old Black Belt Divisions--all weights, male and female.
For the Junior and Senior Teams, candidates are drawn from those Black Belts who place 1-4 at the current year's National Championship Olympic Sparring Divisions for 14-17 and 18-32 year olds, all weights, male and female. These candidates are then invited to the annual Team Trials event held in September. This team trial competition is conducted according to a round robin format.
