AAU Taekwondo made great efforts to improve the Officials Program during the 2005 competition year.  Our desire is, and will continue to be, to give Taekwondo Athletes the best competition experience possible.  Good Officials are the key.  One of the changes, to insure our continued improvement, was to overhaul the evaluation process for Officials.  Officials that met the time requirements for upgrade in Officials Classification could request to be evaluated at the 2005 AAU Nationals.  30 Officials requested to be evaluated.  This process included a written test and evaluation in the ring during the five days of competition.  Of the 30 Officials that were evaluated, 23 were upgraded.  Congratulations to those that were promoted in grade.  Those that were not upgraded were given a list of their weaknesses and strengths.   They now know what they need to work on to insure their continued growth as Officials and for success in future evaluations.  Look for continued improvements in the Officials program as we look forward to the 2006 competition year.  A great attitude and desire to improve is evident in the AAU Taekwondo Official.  Thank you to all Officials in Taekwondo for the time and effort you give.

To all the 140 Officials that worked during the week, Thank You!
