Joel Ferrell Award Winners for Taekwondo

Taekwondo is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Joel Ferrell Award presented to Kennedy Pahl, Matthew Puhl and Isaac Mock. The Joel Ferrell Award is presented each year to an athlete who demonstrates outstanding athletic accomplishments and sportsmanship. 

This year’s award was presented by Bobby Stone, Event Director and Joe Hasan, Co-Event Director for the AAU Junior Olympic Games. 

The Joel Ferrell Award in Taekwondo is presented to a male and female athlete who received the most points. 

 

Kennedy Pahl
Female Award Winner

Our female Joel Ferrell Award Winner, Kennedy who is 9 years old from Farrell’s Martial Arts in Des Moines, Iowa is a third grader at Hanawalt Elementary.  When she is not practicing martial arts she loves to play soccer and softball.

Matthew Puhl

Male Award Winner

 

Our co-male Joel Ferrell Award Winner, Matthew who is 9 years old also from Farrell’s Martial Arts in Des Moines, Iowa is a third grader being homeschooled.  He is currently practicing for testing for his Black Belt in 2014.

Isaac Mock

Our co-male Joel Ferrell Award Winner, Isaac Mock who is 15 years old from Murphy, North Carolina and trains with Dacula Family Sports.  Isaac is currently in 10th grade at Murphy High School and in his spare time loves to play soccer, golf and basketball.

All winners showed exemplary sportsmanship during the entire event and we are looking forward to a great event next year in Virginia!
