AAU Taekwondo is proud to announce our 2019 National Event Schedule so that school owners, coaches, Athletes, and Families can plan their calendar now in order to attend.
AAU Taekwondo is proud to announce our 2019 National Event Schedule so that school owners, coaches, Athletes, and Families can plan their calendar now in order to attend.
2019 will be a bold year for our organization with new and exciting opportunities for our athletes. We are also extremely proud to announce the return of “ultra”, “executive”, and “special needs” divisions, which will be added back to our AAU Nationals and our new event at the ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex located on the Walt Disney World property.
AAU Nationals
June 29th thru July 6th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
This year’s nationals have been planned in conjunction with the USAT nationals in order to give everyone the opportunity to safely compete in both events. Great care went into the process and events were added to create exciting new opportunities for all. ** Please take time to review the schedule, as it is totally different from previous years.
AAU Junior Olympic Games
The AAU Junior Olympic Games will play host to our hanmadang competition and our Team Trials. The overall event dates are July 30th thru August 3rd in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Hanmadang
July 30th thru August 1st
For those who are not aware, this competition is open to those aged 5 to 24 and to special needs athletes of all ages.

For the first time ever, AAU Junior Olympic Games will play host to Team Trials - our premiere event that selects the AAU National Team. This opportunity presents our athletes, coaches, and families many benefits - not the least of which is the selection of the team prior to the start of school for most.
International Martial Arts Festival
October 25th thru 29th at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex
Finally, we are extremely excited to announce our first ever fall event! This event will offer the opportunity for athletes to experience a new event and be part of a multi-martial arts extravaganza at Disney World. We have also been offered the opportunity to be part of the “Saturday Night Spectacular” with two featured spots aired live on ESPN 3. In our first year, we will offer the following types of competition (in addition to being the home of our official Sport Poomsae Nationals):
